PKMN-Adventures: Mission: Poke-Daycare

Astra was still considered somewhat of a "new arrival" to Astrour Manor, but even in his short time there he was beginning to see how erratic everyone was. He'd watch Aura go back and forth only to get stopped by Nathan and she'd have to give up another chore. 
"No, I've got this!" she would reply but Nathan would ignore her reasoning. Astra could tell they were getting on each other's nerves.

Aura jumped at the sound of her cell-phone's chime, pulling it out of her pocket half-frantically. "Hello?" she answered, followed by a few "A-hum", "Yes", and "Yeahs" before hanging up. She looked down at Astra who had approached her during the conversation, "Astra, would you like to accompany me to the Professor's lab?"
"We-ll, I don't know, lady-" he replied, "-but it's not like I don't got anything better to do." He watched her head for the door before following, "B'sides, y'all really need cable up in here. There just ain't nothing to do-!" He jumped at the sound of the large doors closing behind him.
Aura knelt down before asking, "There's a lot one can do when taking care of a manor such as Astrour."
Astra folded his arms, "Clearly nothin' that one-man-band can't do."
"Y-you mean master Nathan?" she frowned.
"Yeah!" he continued as Aura picked him up and placed him in the truck, "He may be your master, but he seems to be doing all your work for you. Why is that?"
Aura got in the driver's seat and buckled up, "I-I...I don't know-" she started the ignition, "-perhaps it's just his way of coping with what happened."
"What? Why...?! What happened?" Astra asked the whole ride over, getting little answers.

"Y'know- it's really not cool to leave me hangin' like that the whole ride over." he complained, but Aura didn't seem to pay attention. They entered through the front doors to the lobby and straight to the front desk. He continued to talk up to her, "Are you listenin' to me?!"
Aura only replied after finishing talking with the receptionist, "Astra, we've been assigned to look after and take care of the new hatclings in the facility." She took a slip of paper and a key card as she turned down the hall. Astra fought with his disproportionate body to keep up.
"New hatchlings? I thought we were just visiting!" Astra complained between hops, "After all what're we supposed to do with a couple-" he was interrupted by the open door to the nursery, "-whoa..."

The "whoa" Astra referred to was the dozens of uncommon starters crawling about the room. It looked like an overly-chaotic pre-school classroom and the teacher had just stepped out.
Aura took advantage of Astra's silence to give an answer, "Professor Echo needs us to watch over the little ones while she prepares their vaccines." She steps inside to place her things down on the counter next to a sleeping Mantiper, "They'll be called out one-by-one, so our shift will be over when the last one leaves."
"Ah-well, ow-!"
Aura turns to see that Astra is being ambushed by two mantiper and another draqua, one of the mantiper was tugging his neck down by the horn.
"-Betta hope it's quick or it's about to get Dragon Rage all up in this place..."
Aura giggled at the sight, "O-of course," she gently pulled away the mantiper twins, "As long as we're careful this'll be a piece of cake!"

It took only a few minutes before the mantiper twins were at it again, tumbling and chasing Astra around the room. "GAHHH-" he screamed while Aura was busy feeding a young Kirite. She was so preoccupied with her humming she wasn't even bothered by all the noise behind her.
"That's- enough!" Astra snapped before letting out a Water Gun at his tiny pursuers.
They yelped at the small spray of water and retreated into a corner beside the tiny play structure.
"Your twisted little monarchy ends here, boys-" he smirked, having their full, shivering attention, "-Y'all gonna shape up, play nice- or ELSE."
The two responded with a lisp-y, "Yessir!"

From then on, Astra had a great time with the two, playing on the structure, tag and teaching them how to use their wings. It wasn't long before the twins had their turn and were taken by a nurse. Astra waved goodbye as they went before turning back to Aura, "So who's le-...ft." he started before realizing they were the last ones.
"Oh." he sighed.
Aura smiled, "So I take it you liked looking after the hatchlings?"
"Y-yeah, course! They were little troublemakers at first but-" he cracked his knuckles and smirked, "-it all worked out."
"I'm glad to hear." they proceeded to exit but they were stopped by Professor Echo.

"Wait!" she called out hastily, "W-wait..."
"I-I I'm sorry, m'am!" Aura apologized with a bow, "D-Did you still need my assistance?"
"N-nah, haha-" the professor laughed, "-I actually just wanted to give you a present for helping out today!" She handed the two a small pokemon egg. "It's not much but, I'm sure this'll help your ranch grow!"
Aura nodded before bowing again, "Thank you so much!"
